Exporting and Downloading
Once your font is built, you can download it in one or more formats from the Build page.
Opening the Download Modal
From the Build page, tap Download font. A modal opens with two sections: font metadata and download buttons.

Font Metadata
Filling in the metadata fields is optional but worthwhile, especially if you plan to share or sell the font.
- Family Name: what apps show in the font picker (e.g. "Sarah's Handwriting"). Keep it short and distinctive.
- Author: your name
- Copyright: e.g. "© 2026 Sarah Jones"
- Description: a short note about the font
- Website: your URL
This information is embedded in the font file. Anyone who installs it will see it in their font manager.
Choosing a Format
TTF (TrueType Font)
The most universal format. Works on Windows, macOS, iOS, and Android. Supported by virtually every app that accepts custom fonts: Canva, Procreate, Word, Pages, Keynote, Affinity, and more.
Use this if you're not sure which format you need.
Available on all plans, including Free.
WOFF2 (Web Open Font Format)
A compressed format designed for websites. Smaller file size than TTF, loads faster in browsers. Not for installing on a computer or device; use it in CSS with @font-face.
Available on all plans, including Free.
OTF (OpenType Font)
A professional format with support for advanced typographic features. Some professional apps (Adobe Illustrator, InDesign) prefer OTF over TTF. If you're selling your font, including OTF alongside TTF is standard practice.
Available on Pro plan and the Export Pack only. Tap the OTF button on a lower plan to see the upgrade options.
Which Format Should I Download?

For an Etsy listing, include all three in your download zip for maximum compatibility.
Downloading Multiple Formats
Tap each download button separately. Each format downloads as its own file. To package them for Etsy or distribution, put the TTF, OTF, and WOFF2 files in a zip folder.
